Cimarron, NM Ghosts at St. James

I stayed at the St. James Hotel in Cimarron, NM in March of 2004. I had heard about the "ghosts" and was intrigued. I am skeptical about things like that, but there were a few things that a friend and I could not explain. Shortly after checking in, we were looking at photos and news articles in the lower hallway when something hit me upside my head. I looked around and there was nothing that I could see that could have done that. Then, the hair on the back of my head started raising up as though someone was running their fingers through it. The temperature dropped dramatically while those things were happening. Later, when we were leaving our room to exlpore the town of Cimarron, we stepped into the hallway and the temperature dropped again and we both smelled roses. The scent was there for about 10 seconds then it was gone. We went up and down the hallway looking for air fresheners and the like. There was nothing. The desk clerk said that was Mary Lambert!
, the wife of the man who built the St. James. Several pictures taken had a few oddities on them. There is no explanation for what we experienced. It was a very nice place to stay. The staff at the St. James were so friendly and attentive. We will definately be going back

St. James Cimarron, NM, DEFFINATELY HAUNTED!

Never encountered Ms. Lambert (her husband also ran the mill - and based on construction style - he may of also built the jail.)

We encountered a young cowhand on the second floor pacing the hallway. Boards creaked, all night. "Vera's" was the pub down below, but it continued long after they closed down.

Next night we stayed at the Best Western just down the road. Boring.

Lots of local history, Black Jack Ketchem from "The Hole In The Wall" gang was hung in town. The rope was too long, his weight was too heavy, and off popped his head; nice before and after in the Mill Museum. About seven miles away is a past home of "Kit Carson."

The room was the far one, on the left, after going up the stairs.
