For Rest Stop: As the previous review stated. This place is fantastic with lake and geese. Low traffic in cars. No designated RV parking. Longish car spots for vans and possibly small class B. There was highway noise but not as bad as most. Sunset and sunrise was great. Restrooms were super clean. Rated best rest stop in Illinois it said. Ask cleaning crew if overnights allowed and they said yes. Definitely stop!!!

For Rest Stop: Write it down. Salt Kettle Rest Area on I-74 west of the Indiana-Illinois state line. Level places to park and several acres of shaded picnic areas. Big pond/small lake. The parking areas are far enough away from the interstate that you don’t hear the road noise. Pulled in around 1:00 AM and left at 7:00 AM with no hassles.
