For Canyon De Chelly National Monument - Cottonwood Campground: This is a campground run by the Navajo Nation at the national monument. It’s FCFS. We came on a Thursday and were literally the only ones here. By Friday, there were 5 or so other groups. The campground has over 90 spots. It’s well shaded and well maintained. No hookups, no showers, but the bathrooms although dates were cleaned daily. Would for sure stay again. Word of warning, we drove by the other campground 9 miles away (spider rock campground) and it looked like a place we would have driven right by had we decided to stay there. I would choose this one hands down!!

For Canyon De Chelly National Monument - Cottonwood Campground: 6/20/2019. Spent the night in a class C with no problems. The night was quite and the dogs have been removed. I would gladly stay there again.

For Canyon De Chelly National Monument - Cottonwood Campground: Not bad for a Reservation campground. Paved, level sites, dump station and potable water to refill our tank. The do not take reservations, but have never filled up. Right next door to the Thunderbird Lodge and their tour company that takes people through Canyon de Chelly in the big 6 wheel drive off road vehicles.

For Canyon De Chelly National Monument - Cottonwood Campground: Good location. Paved level sites. But overgrown and not maintained. We had terrible bugs, and picked up MICE here!

For Canyon De Chelly National Monument - Cottonwood Campground: Not a bad campground and would be better with some cosmetic work. The roadways are on the narrow side so looking for an appropriate site is best done on foot or with your toad. My one concern is all the warning signs telling you to keep all valuables locked up. Raised my apprehension level more than I like. Also, when I was camping here there was no one manning the gate nor a campground host. I noted some confusion by campers when they entered the campground the first time. The Thunderbird Lodge being within easy walking distance was a big plus. Meals at the lodge were consistently good.

For Canyon De Chelly National Monument - Cottonwood Campground: So its dry camping, no hookups, no showers. What's to review? Nice paved roads and level paved site. Dusty between sites. Beautiful big trees. No camp host. Nice location right by Canyon. Thunderbird hotel next door with cafeteria.

For Canyon De Chelly National Monument - Cottonwood Campground: Excellent, inexpensive campground. Dry camping on flat, large paved sites. No reservations, first come, first served. Reviewer who says sites are too close is ... in error. Plenty of space between sites. Many sites are well shaded. Park and canyon are a delight. We plan to be back often. (Why would someone expect showers for $14 a night? Why would anyone remark on no discount for seniors at that price?) We camped in a 33-ft motorhome in Oct 2017.
