For Rio Verde RV Park: Decent sized sites all compacted gravel. Sites on the inside area seemed to have more shade and concrete patio areas. Clean well maintained. Didn’t try the showers.
We originally reserved for a week , but my wife had a medical emergency resulting in a trip by ambulance to the emergency room. Paul in the office was very accommodating and juggled site assignments around making it possible to for us to stay in our site until she was discharged.
Within easy reach of Sedona and all the other sites.

For Rio Verde RV Park: We have been coming into this park the last few years. It is under new management and every time we stay here the park it getting better and better. It’s an older park with no true amenities except LOCATION. It’s close to everything. 15 mins S of Sedona. Walmart less than a mile away and easy access right off the 89A. The Verde River runs right next to the park. Mature trees provide shade. It looks like it was once more of a long term park. But since new management stepped in they are moving to more nighties and weeklies which has appeared to clean the park up. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced park in an awesome location with very friendly staff. This is a great place to a stop over or a seasonal stay.

For Rio Verde RV Park: We had a back in spot with a view of the river for our 37 ft 5th wheel. The space was ok even though there was a tree between the sites there was still room for our slide - out and no problem getting a signal on my dish...we didn't feel cramped. Its was a drop down to the river, but there were trails close by for access. We didn't use the restrooms or showers but did sneak a peek at them and they were clean looking. They offer propane delivery during the week which was a plus since we happened to be there during a cold spell. The wife loved the free yoga class. All in all its a basic RV park that does have full timers but we will keep this park on our "will return list"

For Rio Verde RV Park: I made a reservation over the phone and discussed a good site for my 35' fifth wheel. I was told that it would fit no problem, and that there was a grassy area behind the spot with river access. Our family was excited; however upon arrival we found this to be very different. The road is very tight, so tight we struggled to fit with other RV's hanging into the roadway. When we arrived at the assigned spot, I was disappointed. The grassy area with river access was a very, very steep drop off that was covered in grass. A slip while on that grass would surely result on a swim in the river. With a child this is unacceptable. The second issue is that for my rig to clear the road when parked would require us to back up so the rear axle was near the cliff, sorry grassy area, leaving 14' of my trailer inaccessible.
I returned to the front office to find a new site, on the drive back we looked for a site that would be acceptable and found none. I told the office staff, they discussed other locations with me. All of which were the same as the first. I told them we would not be able to stay there and that I would like a refund. The staff said that they don't offer refunds. My wife called back after I walked out being completely disappointed with their efforts and was told the same - no refunds.
I understand that refund policies are in place to prevent booking issues, and other situations. But when I discussed the spot with them while making the reservation I put my faith I them.
We were only staying one night so I chalked this up to a donation to a business that would fail otherwise without it. This 'absolute' no refund is what businesses do when they know their product is so poor that refunds would shut them down.
I would recommend not camping here, if you are planning a trip to the area - dead horse state park offers much better facilities that are more safe and secure for your rig and more importantly, your family.
