For Golden Municipal Campground: Well serviced, lots aren't large but adequate. Staff helpful and friendly. The trains didn't bother my wife and I, we were that tired, merely glad to have a decent serviced site. Nice walkway along the Kicking Horse river. Would stay again.

For Golden Municipal Campground: We loved every minute of it. We were there in May so some of the nearby places, like the outdoor pool, weren’t open yet but that’s fine. The railroad is right across the River with trains coming by about every 30 minutes but we didn’t mind. The kids actually loved watching them go by. Close to all amenities, friendly staff, clean property and a wonderful experience.

For Golden Municipal Campground: I agree with the other reviews. The campground was clean and attractive. Here’s the reason for the 3 stars. I took off one star for the TRAIN NOISE! Right across the river the train goes frequently day and night. Whistles and clanking and uncoupling noises at all hours. I like the distant sound of trains but this wasn’t distant. I took off one star for the unusual registration procedure. The office workers lock the office doors from 11-1 PM. They are out cleaning. Check in is 1 pm. Not a minute sooner. It’s not explained well on the door. If you arrive a little before one you are left on the porch locked out and confused. I wasn’t the only one. The second day there I was sitting near the office at noon to do laundry and half a dozen people tried the door, looked around, and asked me if I knew why the door was locked and where everyone was.

For Golden Municipal Campground: We saw this campground in 2017 when we were in Golden at another campground and said if we ever came back we would come here. We are big fans of supporting municipal and provincial parks both in Canada and the US. We just completed a 3 night stay here in space 21 and it was a lovely experience. Yes it is near a railroad track but how many campgrounds are not?? Especially in Canada! Plus I think it is fascinating watching those trains. It is right on the Kicking Horse River coming out of Yoho so how much can you ask for??We were in one of the power/water sites. If you have a dog, you can get out on some of the Golden Municipal trails right from camp. Everything in town is close, groceries, brewpubs, shops, etc. Golden is a great little town with access to 3 national parks here is great! We hiked in Yoho, and Thompson Falls. Canyon creek is a great hike. The women that run this campground have been doing so for 12 years and they continue to make improvements and run a great business. They know what they are doing and have made this a nice revenue stream for the city. The camp store has free coffee every morning too. There are some beautiful forested sites if you don't need hookups. I think the word is out on this campground and that it is no longer a well kept secret. Thanks!

For Golden Municipal Campground: Very clean & well kept campground. We stayed for Canada Day weekend 2018 in pickup camper. The camp is about 1 block from the city pool @ about 4 blocks from down town. Situated right next to the river in a pine forest campground. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. I would have rated it 5 stars if it wasn't for the railroad tracks on the other side of the river. It would be 7 star to a train nut. Still I will stay here again when passing through!
