For Riverbend Resort: We paid for seven days and left on the fourth day due to open raw sewage cesspool in the campground. Human excrement can be dangerous as it contains micro-organisms such as coliform, fecal coliform, Escherichia coliform and Enterococcus. Contact with raw sewage can also result in Hepatitis.
When we informed management of the stench their reply was that no one else was complaining. This was not true as a neighboring camper got the same response. When someone from campground did show up...first they blamed the stench on another camper, then they said it was the farm next door, etc. We decided to leave due to stench and unhealthy environment and requested a refund for the remaining unused time. They first started blaming everyone else and when I called their hand they immediately started playing the victim. I am sure they will deny all of this as the best indicator of future behavior is past behavior.
Had I read the reviews on YELP I would have never made reservations here. When a business puts money over the safety of families it is not a matter of if, but when.

For Riverbend Resort: Good campground. Sites are about average size. Water is good. Laundry facilities a bit dated. Basic cable. Next to no satellite reception. Staff are super friendly. Other residents are very nice, welcoming. If you want to escape this is the place to do it.
