For Marble Canyon - Kootenay National Park: We were looking for a CG that would be convenient to hiking in the northern section of Kootenay National Park. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed for a week in August/September, including Labor Day weekend in our 8 metre (25 foot) MH.
This is a nice CG, quite convenient to many hiking trails. The sites are dirt, most need some leveling. Most sites are shaded with trees, there were a few on the perimeter in loops C, H, and J with sun (and views). The trees and situating of the sites makes them relatively private. All sites are primitive (no hookups). There're service areas between the loops with outdoor kitchens, washrooms w/ flush toilets and firewood (fee for permit). There's water throughout the park and a dump station with potable water near loop J. There's no cell service. There is cell service in 2 parking lots in Castle Junction, 10 minutes east.
This CG is very convenient to hiking, including Stanley Glacier, as well as Marble Canyon and the Paint Pots. It's a 30 min drive to Banff and Lake Louise (in Banff NP) and 60 min to Radium Hot Springs.
