For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: We showed up for a one night stay in the tent area, but was told since we were only sleeping in our van we had to stay in the overflow dry camp area (100 yard away from the restroom and wifi). The restroom is only one toilet, one shower. I feel like a second class retiree band to the dirt parking lot.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: Just getting here for a long stay and here are some things that other reviews haven’t covered. This is 50 Amp only, so if you are 30A you need an adapter, and they say the power is sketchy so have a good surge protector. The coyotes here are not afraid of people because previous campers fed them, now they are a threat, especially to pets. Prepare for a lengthy paperwork drill on check in, and there’s a long wait list because of the housing shortages and a lot of us are trying to stay here for awhile.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: Pretty nice accommodating rv park, some full timers. We had pull thru asphalt spot, neighbors were pretty close Very nice people that work there. Didn’t utilize bathrooms/showers. Laundry was clean & fair priced, coin operated. Quiet base, not much going on there or in the area. Small px & commisary. Would go back if in the area.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: By far the absolute worst dog policy I have ever encountered. Apparently the wing commander can determine which dog breeds are considered inherently aggressive, and are banned from the base unless they are emotional support dogs. I’ve stayed at rv parks all across the country and never dealt with such an Ignorant dog policy. They also make you pay $10 just to dry camp on a base where you could literally park in any other parking lot on base for free. Absolutely ridiculous. We called River park RV 12 miles down the road, they were extremely friendly and had no problems allowing our “aggressive/viscous†animals. Also, for the same price and a much much much better view.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: Our site was pull through on a concrete pad. All hookups worked fine. Wifi worked well with a cell booster. There are ground squirrels all over the place, meaning holes in the ground to watch out for. The pine trees at the campsites need trimming badly (a tree branch gouged the side of our RV upon leaving). The road to leave through the Lompoc gate is 9% downgrade.
We were lucky enough to catch a Space-X launch of a Falcon 9 rocket. It was awesome!

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: Stayed here a couple nights recently and was impressed with the facility and the base. Fairly well kept and the people were pleasant to deal with. We arrived on a Sunday evening with no reservation and quickly directed to open slot. Power, water, and sewage hookup, $24 a night for a pull through. The base has a nice bowling alley, Dominos, Subway, Burger King, and Exchange.

For Vandenberg AFB FamCamp: I stayed there for a lengthy time. Most RVs appear to be permanent. The new camp hosts are very rude. (Crocodile smile). They appear to keep sites 5 and 6 open for people passing through. The showers were never cleaned. Spiders throughout the day rooms. Beautiful weather. If you plan to stay any length of time, in my opinion, if you don't fit into their click, you get stuck in the outskirts. God forbid you pitch a tent. Stay there and enjoy the weather. Gorgeous country side. Ocean beaches on base. Tons of wildlife. The Hosts will stare as you pass them by if they don't like you.
