For McCabe Flat Campground: This place is a hidden gem. You do have to travel over a one lane bridge, and then 2.3 miles of gravel road, not for the faint of heart. BUT once you’re back there, it is GORGEOUS. We have a 22’ C class pulling a Honda Civic, and we’re able to pull into spot #9 and have a gorgeous view of the river. The sound of the water was amazing and there is a picnic table and fire ring there too. $10 per night on the honor system, with a bathroom (no shower) and garbage and recycling bins right there. We stayed Monday- Friday and saw maybe 3 other people back there. Maybe busier on the weekend? Not a ton of RV spaces so you’re taking a chance on that, but it is worth it! I would return here in a heartbeat. Such a relaxing week and only about 30 mins to the entrance of Yosemite. Can’t beat it! 4 stars only because of the gravel road, that was not fun, but I bet it’s part of the reason it’s not overly crowded back there.
