For Del Mar Beach Cottages: We stayed here September 18 - 20, 2021. We loved it. It is definitely a beach campground. The sites aren’t terribly large, but the ocean is the prime reason for being there. The toilets and showers are beach style, but much cleaner than most. We even had a convoy of tanks come rolling through on our last morning on their way to beach maneuvers. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 is because of the terrible reservation system. My husband spent hours trying to get through and then on hold. Once we got there, the service was great. We do want to return.

For Del Mar Beach Cottages: My friend and I camped for five days, the week before Easter. We were on the second row, site 42 & 43. I have a 5er TH 29’. I pulled head first so I could drop the back end of my TH to enjoy the beach and ocean. On shore breeze in the day and it would switch during the evening, no issues of fire pit smoke. The best spot is row one, maybe next time. Kudos for the Marines for keeping their RV open, the Navy RV camps are not open b/c of “covid.” Kids playground and beach is open. We will be back again.

For Del Mar Beach Cottages: We stayed here last month for a week and loved it, can’t wait to come back next winter. Our spot was on the third row so we were on the asphalt but only a few feet from the beach. A little less sand to deal with since we have a dog. The RV park is an easy walk to a little PX/BX shopping area. Included a nice little coffee shop and clean laundromat and a sub shop. It was fun to watch the Marines “elephant walk” their amphibious tanks through the RV park in the mornings on their way to the exercise areas. Rows 4 & 5 seem to be for the more long term RVers.

For Del Mar Beach Cottages: Great Famcamp. One of the best MWR in the nation. Row one was great. Step out our the RV and you’re walking on the beach! Staff is very helpful and accommodating. This would be a five-star rating, but the reservation system really sucks. One must spend hours or days on the phone to get a warm breathing human being to answer.

For Del Mar Beach Cottages: 2nd row site 39. My friend and I side by side spend a couple nights. Fantastic experience yet again. Stayed here a few times now. An absolute gem. Each site has full hookups on the beach. Fire ring and table. I did not try the WiFi, laundry. They have a store local and some places to eat. Clean. AT&T signal was good 2-3 bars. Some people complain about smoke from the fire pits, ok... never had a problem with it. Fun friendly place if you can get access. I come at least once a year.

For Del Mar Beach Cottages: Camped here over a holiday weekend. Front row spot. Beautiful beach. Tight / close spots.. be prepared to be almost on top of your neighbor. I agree with other reviews.. a lot of smoke from the fire pits at night so be prepared for that. They do not regulate the number people per camp spot, so your neighbor could have 10-12 people staying in the spot.... 2-3 tents plus a camper. Substantial Noise past quiet hours....so something to think about especially if you have small children. Not sure we will come to Del Mar RV/campground again....if we do it will not be on a holiday weekend.
