For Lake of the Springs RV Resort: The first thing to know about this campground is that there are not many full hookup sites. Section X will give you the best shot at finding one. Avoiding a Friday arrival will also help. Somehow we lucked into finding FHU back-in shaded site #X16. The trees were most appreciated as it was above 100 degrees for several days! Our site also had incredibly strong water pressure (major bonus!) Lots of deer walked by so that was cool. The nearby Trading Post store has a small grocery selection along with a deli that sells hot foods. An employee named Eva works in the deli and she is incredibly nice. She always had a smile on her face and her positive energy was just wonderful. Their manager is also fantastic. Campground lodge is now open. We loved the downstairs air conditioning and TV, but sadly the free wifi was abysmal. There is no cell reception in Section X but it is close to the pool, store and lodge. Pool closes at 3:00pm and we couldn't figure out why. That is bizarrely early folks! TIP: Go to Section I if you need cell service. My AT&T phone and my wife's Verizon phone had 3 bars there. My phone also had 1 bar & wife's phone had 2 bars near the boat launch dock. Honeywagon service is available for water & electric only sites. The cost is $40.00 for up to 3 pulls. Service is on Thursdays and Sundays. Section G bathrooms were old and very dirty, whereas the section B bathrooms were much better. This campground does not offer optional paid wifi. Recycling is available near the dumpsters.

For Lake of the Springs RV Resort: We stayed for 7 days in June 2021 with our 28’ TT in section B, site 13. It was a well shaded back-in site under a canopy of trees. Site 13 is nice and wide with water/electric (30amp). Very few Full Hookup Sites are available, ever. The majority of sites are Water/ electric only. A $40 honey bucket service is offered Thursday’s and Sundays. $60 honey bucket service is available every other day of the week.
No wood fires allowed, but propane fire pits are welcome. They also don’t allow hanging of hammocks from trees.
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The facilities are dated and need some serious investing. The water at the sites and sewage at the restroom/ showers went out of service on two different days while we were there. Some friends of ours stayed at a Full Hookup site in the G section, but the septic was broken and the electrical was spotty. A work crew was digging for about 3 days near their site and let us know the infrastructure was 50 years old and not done well.
The lake was pleasant, especially on the really hot days. They rent pontoon boats, kayaks and SUP’s. There is a 5mph speed limit on the entire lake, so no tubing, just fishing and slow cruising. The pool was nice, but had only 4 patio chairs for an area that easily had 20 people at the pool every day. The kids fishing pond was empty and appeared unmaintained. There was also shuffle board, miniature golf, Tennis Courts, kids playground, horse shoe pits, basketball court (far away) and baseball field (far away).
The Trading Post (store) had essentials like beer, ice, eggs, propane filling and some souvenirs. There is a deli and an ice cream shop also. The hours and days could be improved. It was closed M - T, open W-Th 9-4pm, and Fr-Sat 9-5pm, Sun 10-4pm. Not really convenient hours. We went to the Oregon House Grocery & Deli, a 5 minute drive away, a few different days due to the Trading Posts restrictive hours.
The lodge is the only wifi connectivity in the entire campground. It was open, but nothing was ever happening at the lodge, other than teenagers searching for internet connectivity on their cell phones. There is also a Cell Lot which is at the top of a steep hill, near section “I†but it’s far away from everything with no shade.
This was our 1st stay at a Thousand Trails campground. We knew what to expect based on other reviews and word of mouth, but it was much more dated than we anticipated. We received the Thousand Trails membership free with the purchase of our TT, however, Lake of the Springs needs to modernize with the amenities most people want, like Full Hookup sites and WiFi throughout the campground. Golf cart rentals would be a nice offering also, since the campground is pretty well spread out. I can’t see paying an annual membership for spotty electric, water and sewer. Meeting all the other campers was a blast though and we made some great new friends.

For Lake of the Springs RV Resort: What can I say, it’s Thousand Trails. Roads suck, mostly 30 amp/water only. There are a few full sites. Cell signal sucks, except D loop. But the sites are large, plenty of restrooms. There is a small lake and a boat launch. The main area is nice. It is quiet and lots of wildlife. No wood fires. But the scenery is beautiful. Id love to come back. There are a lot of amenities. There is a pool, baseball, basketball and playground. HUGE park! Theres also a dog swimming area.
