For Lake ONeill Recreation Area: I’ve stayed here 4 times, all positive. Now that COVID is over the playground and other stuff is open. If you come in late there is a handy field to park in. Most of the sites are easy to back into. The gym is walkable
Cons: 1 I think they take the phone off the hook at the office. 2. Go back and forth on giving you a space number in advance. This is an issue because it is a mile walk to the office on the other side of the lake (don’t drive your rig to the office)

For Lake ONeill Recreation Area: ATT Cell 2-3 bars
WiFi No
TV Air No
Cable No
Site: Water, electrical 30/50
The site was paved, we stayed in site eight. There are some sites that also have sewer. The dump station was convenient. We stayed two nights. Decent view of the lake. This site was fairly well-maintained. I’ve stated at many military ran campgrounds and they’re always decent. Good mixture of military families and a few long-term 30 day type campers. They did have trash and recycle dumpsters. They provided Porta potty’s and bathroom shower areas for tent campers. Play grounds for kids. The lake was full and certainly a jewel. Overall relaxing. I would stay again, but only if Delmar and San Onofre Beach are full.

For Lake ONeill Recreation Area: Great place to stay. Sites are clean and hassle-free. Reasonably priced. We stayed here for a week in our new 43' Fuzion Toyhauler (5th Wheel). $25/nite (full hook-ups). Pull thru space and plenty of room. Fishing available at Lake O'Neil, playgrounds for the kids, many other things to do. Close proximity to mini-mart, commissary, and BX. Would stay again!
