For Island Park: Site 9 upper loop February 3-5, 2020. Site is reported to be the most popular in the campground. It is in the corner of an asphalt parking lot not far from a closed at this time bathroom/shower building. It is on a point overlooking the lake . Actual site fit truck camper fine. Small gravel area for a tent with steep drop off on two sides. Table, and fire ring, fish cleaning table amidst borders and fringe trees. Had no staff at entrance station so needed to be able to find campsite. Staff made rounds later in day. With senior pass 15$ per day. Adequate Verizon coverage with booster. Lake is lovely in foothills of Sierra not easy to access due steep slopes. Site 9 has no close neighbors so is very quiet and private. Other than people using the parking lot. Would happily stay in this site again.
