For Rancho Oso RV Camping Resort: We had a reservation for two nights at the end of Oct, 2018 and arrived to friendly face at the guard shack. If you need doggie bags make sure to ask them for some because they are nowhere to be found throughout the park. We drove to the camping area that had water and electric only and got the last spot available. We set up our unit and took a walk to go to check out the place. We arrived at the store five minutes after they closed so we looked at the pool area. The pool was in use by children and adults alike; however, they do have some special hours for adults only. There is a playground for children nearby. We asked at the guard shack about watching game four of the World Series - he told us we could watch it in the game room at the Stone Lodge but when we went to watch the game we were told that she could not turn on the tv due to her serving dinner shortly. We went back to our motor home and listened to the game on XM radio. Pros: There is a lot to do if you have children - horseback riding, swimming, playground. There are daily activities for adults and children but mostly on the weekend since children are back in school now. Cons: The bathrooms and showers in our area (we were in site #103 were old, falling apart (wood rot), sink has little to no caulking, and is definitely showing its 30+ year age. The flies were horrible - flies live in the oak trees and lay their larvae on the leaves, while we walked you had to constantly swat them away from your face and they were attacking our small dog. The rangers said they will go away after the first frost but sadly that did not help us during our stay. Bring nets to protect you and your food from the flies. My experience there was limited since we left after one day due to the flies. We will try this place again but before or after fly season.

For Rancho Oso RV Camping Resort: This campground probably isn’t all that bad but it was one of my worst so far. The drive-in was a bit treacherous for my 26ft class c but I figured Nirvana may be at the end. Not even close. When I first drove-in, I was hopeful. It looked to be a huge sprawling ranch, just like the ‘brochure’ said, however, all rvs are guided along a road that ends with a parking lot, packed-in tight as can be, and this was our camping ground. The mood was somber at best and who can blame a person? I never once saw any staff members save for the check-in. And for the cherry on top??? No cell no WiFi. I won’t be returning
