For Cerro Alto Campground: I loved this little campground! It was beautiful, clean, quiet and the people were friendly! Bathrooms were clean and there was a picnic table and fire ring at each site. There is a hiking trail up to the top of the mountain summit that can be accessed at different locations. It’s about 6 1/2 miles round-trip but there is an excellent view at the top. I am a woman in my 60s who travels alone and I felt perfectly safe here and on the trail to the mountain summit. The only con of this place is that I received little to no cell service.

Just a camper
For Cerro Alto Campground: Loved this quiet, primitive campground. We have a 20 feet van and had no trouble with the site, plenty of space. The area is beautiful. We hiked up the mountain, a good workout, but you get rewarded with a spectacular view over Morro Bay rock and the 7 sisters all the way to San Luis Obispo. I will definitely stay here again when in the area. Cheap for CA standards.

Lisa
For Cerro Alto Campground: This is NOT an RV suitable campground. Road in is barely one lane but it's a two way street and has loads of low branches. The 35' RV site we had reserved did not fit our 23' motorhome had another site on top of it and was next to the vault toilet. Plus the picnic table was 200 meters up a very very steep slope. Not a nice campground especially for rvs.
