For Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve: Very nicely laid out campground and park near La Jolla, CA. There is a large lake, swimming, fishing, paddle boating, and a pool and hot tub. The showers and restrooms are very clean, and the ducks on the lake are wonderful. There are two downsides: the surfaces in the lakefront área are dirt, creating mud when it rains, and the wifi/internet (tangointernet, is non-functioning.

For Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve: Matt - 3-2021: Spacious sites, clean restrooms and very well kept park. Lakes are a big plus, especially if you like fishing. Would have given 5 stars, but WiFi is sketchy if you don't have a site on top of a hot spot. Verizon cell signal is weak in spots. Still a great place for adults and kids.

For Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve: Overall great experience. Sites had space, didn't feel like I was on top of each other, level for the most part. Quiet during the day and at night. Restrooms and laundry facility were available. No recycling just trash dumpsters. A nice walking path to go on a stroll with the dogs. Fishing is available if you want in the lakes. There are extended stay families but didn't bother me. Everyone's site was in good order. Will definitely come back.

For Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve: Stayed here for two weeks while visiting San Diego area. Very convenient. Well maintained park. Large pull through sites with full hooks-ups. Stayed in 40’ motorhome with tow car. Paid internet worked well. Verizon service horrible. Similar to previous post. Lots of residents, so not as much interaction with neighbors as we normally would. Good value for money.

For Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve: The campground has good size sites 70+ feet and mostly level. The amenities are adequate although some are shared with day use visitors. The lakes are nice and offer good walking trails although dogs are not allowed on trails around most of them. The park is gated and therefore feels very safe and secure. They do have quite a few extra fees that weren’t explained when we made the reservation but altogether still a good value for monthly stay in CA.
The biggest con is that the park is predominantly occupied by full time residents. Unlike your typical RV full timers these are mostly families living in rv’s. The sites are mostly kept neat but it lacks a ‘vacation’ feel and therefore lack of neighbors with similar agendas.

For Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve: ALOT OF PEOPLE!!! Place is very clean and well maintained. Hard for me to give it more than 3 stars cause it's in the city and it's like your staying in a parking lot. When camping here I don't get the (I'm on a vacation feel). A lot of full timers but they keep in looking clean.

For Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve: Great place. There are a lot of full timers/extended stay folks. Very clean and well managed. Pretty good value for the area, not too far from very cool places to visit. We arrived late but there were no hassles getting set up as long as you arrive by 10pm. We stayed a few days in October. The weather was beautiful. Will definetly visit again. 36 foot MH and towed veh were accommodated without any problems.
