For Dorst Creek Campground - Sequoia National Park: It's Sequoia - so perhaps that is all that needs to be said.

We stayed over a busy holiday but timed what we wanted to do to beat the crowds. During other times, we found hikes the crowds did not favor. The walk from this campground to the big trees of Muir Grove was spectacular - Little and Big Baldy offered wonderful Sierra views.

The restrooms are aging. The nearest shower is several miles away and the one in lodgepole serves a lot of people - we got there early! As usual the sites vary. We stayed in a walk in that was on top of a short but steep hill - well worth it for the privacy and space. It was like being in the wilderness with the park to ourselves. Other sites were crowded and right on the road.

This gets 5 stars for being in Sequoia at our our particular site. Your experience might vary and we know some people left early.
