For Big South Campground: More like a dispersed campsite than a campground. Right by the road, but also *right* on the Cache la Poudre River so the rushing river sounds absorbs any road noise. One vault toilet. Beautiful setting! We stayed in site #3 which is kind of a pull thru. Although the description says 25ft max, if you are creative, you might be able to fit a 30' rig in site #3. Site #4 is better if you want to back up right to the river.
No trails to speak of right off the campsite, but the Big South trail is right across the bridge, about a tenth of a mile away. If you're into hiking, look up the Big South trail.
We were there in late June so mosquitoes were out, but they are everywhere in summer. Lots of fire damage in the area from the Cameron Peak fire last year. The campground itself did not have fire damage around.
