For Glenwood Canyon Resort: We called the "pet friendly" resort and were told "no Mastiffs." There was no inquiry made as to the temperament of the dogs, just a flat out "no Mastiffs." As a side note, our Mastiffs are typical for the breed...docile, amazing with kids, zero aggressiveness, and quiet. For a "pet friendly" resort to enforce a clueless ban on a breed (any breed without any context) is a shame. They would have let us in with some other breed, one that could have barked or been possessive or surly or whatever, or we could have brought in kids with any variety of behavioral issues, but absolutely no Mastiffs. We drove from CA to NY, and stayed at many pet friendly resorts...and not ONE had any issue whatsoever with Mastiffs. One too-ranked resort allowed our dogs in their general store, and the park employees often stopped whatever they were doing to come by and actually pet or interact with our dogs. THAT is the type of service that gets RV parks decent ratings and repeat customers. I recommend that anyone who has a dog that even resembles a Mastiff (which, by the way, includes numerous breeds from which Mastiffs were used in breeding...Great Danes, Boerboels, St. Bernard, etc), to drive right by this place and wave. In hindsight I should have simply stayed there and told them my dogs were mixed breeds and that I had no idea what a Mastiff even is...and I wager they would have had no clue. It makes far more sense for parks to prohibit behavior, not breeds. Who out there would rather be next to any breed of barking or mean dogs or noisy or disrespectful kids versus next to dogs or kids with manners???

For Glenwood Canyon Resort: We were told by a gentleman when reserving a space that we could check in early. But when we arrived the lady at the counter was very rude and would not let us check in early even though the campsite was vacant. There was no wifi and the cost was $65 with the Good Sam discount. They also charged a "resort fee" of over $7 (included in the $65). There were no pull thru sites and the sites had gravel. It's off the 70 freeway but was very quiet.

For Glenwood Canyon Resort: This resort takes full payment(non-refundable)!!!so be sure you won't have to cancel!! Our truck blew a head gasket 3 days before we were to leave! Needless to say we are out the full amount for 2 night stay! Very expensive and will never go back!

For Glenwood Canyon Resort: Contrary to reviews I read, I was greeted very courteously on arrival and accommodated for an early check in. The restraunt and bar on site was very nice with a great view of the river. We are driving a 40ft motorhome and it fit nicely into our site which had plenty of room fro slides and outdoor living. The manager (Kevin) was very friendly and accommodating in every way. I guess the reviews I had read were people who are not "happy campers"( no pun intended). We had a very nice experience here!!!!

For Glenwood Canyon Resort: Stayed here in July at the RV sites right along the riverfront. These sites included water and electric and will accommodate an RV up to 30ft. We stayed in our large popup camper. First off, when I booked the site and was quoted such a high price I thought they misunderstood me. The price was 25.00 higher than I have ever heard of at any campground for only water and electric. While the resort furnished cabins are great to stay in as my wife and I have before, the campground and RV parking is the worst I've ever used. The sites along the river are so tightly spaced you have zero privacy or hardly enough room to spread out an awning. We could not use our fire ring simply because it would have caught our popup on fire or risked burning holes in the canvas from embers from being so tight on space. Trains ran 3 times during the night, (very loud) and 3 to 4 times durning daytime. The bathroom and showers while fairly clean, were a bit rundown and in need of some simple updating to justify a ridiculous price we had to spend to stay here. I searched all over Glenwood Springs before making my camping reservations and unfortunately, this is about it. Guess that is why they charge such an obscene amount here. Would not camp here again, but do recommend the resort cabins.
