For Elk Creek - Curecanti National Recreation Area: Barren campground with no trees or shade, although there are beautiful views of the lake and nearby mountains. Sites are level concrete pads, most right on the side of the road. Sites are well spaced and the bathrooms are clean, although I didn't see any with showers. Electric-only hookups in some sites, no hookups in many others. There is a central dump station and potable water dispenser, but the hose on the dispenser leaked badly and could not be removed.

For Elk Creek - Curecanti National Recreation Area: Arrived may 13, expecting full hookups as reservations.gov specified that they were. Arrived on site, talked to camp ranger who was not friendly at all who told us they’ve never had full hookups. One new ranger told us showers were on and located in each toilet house, the grumpy ranger corrected him and said they are in one location only and due to a winter pipe burst weren’t operable. Only Positive is paved and Concrete pads and close to water if you’re a boater. We didn’t stay. We drove 20 mins to Gunnison and had a wonderful stay with full hookups at the Tall Texan
