For Chatfield State Park: If you are headed in or out of the mountains during winter this is a great place to stage for clear weather/roads as it has one loop open year-round. No water or sewer available at the site but dump/fill is nearby. Great views of the front range during the day and city lights at night. Much quieter and safer than the private campgrounds nearer I-70!

For Chatfield State Park: Really nice park. We did not use the facilities, so cannot comment on those. But, spaciousness and openness of the sites is great with mountain views on the West. All utilities worked well. Note that it IS a long drive once you enter the park; the speed limits are low, so it takes about 10 minutes to get the RV camping once through the West gate. The East gate is closer, but still a long drive. We really like this park.

For Chatfield State Park: Very nice park. Clean modern showers, bathrooms and laundry. Many activities including water craft for rent. Long lines to dump upon departure was only downside.

For Chatfield State Park: Gorgeous park, amazing views, level sites with concrete pad, paved roads, meticulously clean, lots of space, easy to get in/out. We would love to come back and stay longer. Just stayed 1 night on way to Utah. If you’re just passing by, it’s totally worth the drive south of Denver and the $9 park entrance fee! If you have time to stay longer, lucky you! Bring the bikes and water toys, or there’s a place it looks like you can rent them on the south side, looked like classes were going on in the water! One caveat; try to do it all online! Aspira, the phone service for camping, is HORRIBLE! I was on hold for 1 hour the first time I had to call and 40 minutes the second time. The people working at the park registration office are awesome and NOT part of that mess. I’ve not been disappointed by a state park yet. This is one of my favorites!

For Chatfield State Park: Great big sites with awesome views. Large dog park off leash. Biking, fishing, boating, hiking, & then some. Liked so much added a day.

For Chatfield State Park: First campsite I brought my trailer to for a shakedown trip. Easy park to get to and navigate for a newbie tower.
Sites are clean and level with lots of space. Views of mountains to all sides, and there is a large variety of trees.
Camp host was helpful, registration easy. Paid weekly rate for 30 amp electric and I feel it was a good deal. Especially considering you are very close to Denver and all it’s sites.
I would stay here if you are visiting Denver, it’s very natural and serene, but very close to main highways for access.
$8 day state pass required for your car, $70 for an annual Colorado pass. Well worth the annual IMO.

For Chatfield State Park: One of the best parks I've ever camped at. Beautiful large full hook-up sites with concrete pads, and plenty of grass all for +/- $30/night. WiFi consistently running at 2 to 3 mgs, and the lovely view of the lake is only topped by the majestic Rocky Mountains in the background. Hated to leave.
