For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: Our first Colorado State Park and we’re less than impressed. Only a very few concrete spots. Our gravel spot was so slanted that if we’d been any longer than 23’ we couldn’t have stayed. We had electric only. Water was “shared†but none within a useable distance (over 200 ft away). Restrooms and laundry were clean but Colorado isn’t going to give away water. 50 cents for a 3 minute shower. You’re also charged a fee for your tow vehicle $8/day). Only trash facility was over 100 yards away and was overflowing. Won’t be returning to Trinidad. Interesting museums but head shops on every corner. Seems like Colorado could spend some of that cannabis tax income to fix up their parks.

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: This is a beautiful place. The facilities are decent. Our site, #13, was difficult to back into with a 28’ trailer, due to the condition of the road at the time. The people next to us struggled as well, and they had a tiny pop up trailer. Other sites are excellent.

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: Pleasant stop between Texas and spots further north in Colorado. We stay here often. We reserve 61 - a pull through- when we don’t want to unhitch. 6 is the best full hookup site. Some decent hiking trails. The town of Trinidad is worth exploring one afternoon. One mark against - regular sites have electric, but no water.

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: quiet park for a one night stay to rest. only 7 FHU site 2 of which are hist sites. only a few fairly level site the rest are difficult to level and some even very hard to get a large rig into. the price is comparable to private RV parks so you are not saving money. park was clean as were showers (coin operated) and rest rooms. save your money and use an rv park thus is not a spectacular place except for scenery. it is reservation only and unless you can look at sites first before you make a reservation you may find that the of the sites are not accurate as to approach to get in and trying to level your rv

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: One of my all time favorite parks. Huge campsites, many with secluding foliage between you and the road. I love it and visit every time I'm in southern Colorado.

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: We arrived after hours but we had made reservations & paid our fee online. Found out the next day we owed $14.00 more for a day use fee for 2 days. Was surprised to learn this was not included in the camping costs. The site we were in was decent sized but did see sites that we rather cramped the road thru the park was narrow and not easy to pull a 5th wheel thru. The showers & laundry were nice & clean . You can not see the lake from most sites

For Carpios Ridge - Trinidad Lake State Park: Always glad to stay here. Nice campground, spaces are ok. Park Rangers are nice and campground hosts are friendly. Quiet and always a bit on the windy side.
