For Gamble Rogers Memorial State Rec Area: We stayed one night in space 9 on the beach side of park. Space was clean, raked, and very spacious. Water and electric on same post south side, fire pit and picnic bench to north. At this spot and many that are on beach, the foliage blocks direct views to ocean. Maybe if you have a high rig and your back room has a window you can see. Regardless, you are close enough to hear the surf crashing, mixing with the crackle of campfire. This along with a very dark sky allows for relaxing amazing star gazing. Check in is on other side of park across the road. Friendly staff made check in a snap. Oh and they gave our dog a treat. We biker across to other side and that park was also very spacious and looked nice. This side is where you can put in a boat or kayak or sup to paddle is smooth water. One thing no one shared that I’ve read is that, while the beach at park is state run(so no dogs allowed), they have a coded gate at south end for access to city beach WHICH IS DOG FRIENDLY! So I think our dog would give this 5 stars. I have yet to give 5, but this place had no negatives. Nice beach, quiet enough, and clean. We would come back.

For Gamble Rogers Memorial State Rec Area: A great “base camp†for exploring the Daytona-St. Augustine areas. The park was undergoing a lot of repair/construction. We stayed riverside, and were really only in the campground during the evenings.
Front desk was kind and helpful. Patrolling “ranger†was a stickler, and seeming to really keep an strong eye on anyone appearing to be under 50.
Great location and hookups.

For Gamble Rogers Memorial State Rec Area: Super clean bath houses & friendly, helpful campground hosts!
Nice park, either riverside or beach side. Disappointed with the small length of beach & didn’t realize that A1A runs right through the park. If you stay riverside, you must cross A1A to access beach- just didn’t have that “state park†feel.

For Gamble Rogers Memorial State Rec Area: One of Florida’s gems. Both sides of the campground are great, but the beach side is really special. Clean facilities, including coin laundry. Plenty of activities to do in and near the park.

For Gamble Rogers Memorial State Rec Area: Stayed March 18.
The river side is an example of how every campground should be designed & run. Large well spaced sites, great washroom, clean, park rangers VG, EXCELLENT!
Price reasonable!
Unfortunately VERY HARD TO RESERVE A SITE at this or any state park, & reserve America is VERY EXPENSIVE, if you have to cancel as they treat each site as a separate reservation, (when booking a park where you are forced to change sites to extend your stay)

For Gamble Rogers Memorial State Rec Area: Most Florida State Park Campgrounds are wonderful but this place is one of my all time favorites. There is a private campground 15 minutes north offering beach front camping spots for $130 and up a night - here if you are lucky enough to find a beachside spot available you can have one for about $35. The Riverside loop is also great and handles large RV better.
