For Blackwater River State Park: I’m in site 27. Very nice site in a very nice campground. Really good hike trails. Bathrooms are very good. I would rate this campground one of the best state park campgrounds (and we’ve been in a lot of them). 40 minutes to Pensacola. Good bike trail in Milton. They even have curbside trash pick-up each morning. Don’t think twice about staying here…just do it.

For Blackwater River State Park: By far the nicest FL state campground I’ve stayed at. Nearly new facilities. Nice swimming.

For Blackwater River State Park: Sites were easy to access and level. Most sites are gravel and few are concrete slabs. Bathhouse was open and kept clean. The park host comes around every morning to collect trash. Plenty of hiking/walking trails. A canoe/kayak/tube rental service is available a mile or 2 down the road. There is a path down to a “private†beach for the camp spots. Full hook ups. Good size spots. Pet friendly. Staff has been helpful anytime I have approached them. Of course it is FLORIDA so just be prepared for bugs and rain.

For Blackwater River State Park: Very clean and level sites. We were there one night so we didn’t need to unhook. Lots of places to walk the dog. My only negative is a few sites backup other sites and the one we had felt like we were sharing one site. Nothing but a little fence to separate the two sites. I would stay again but I would look for something a little more private. We were there the middle of August rather hot and humid.

For Blackwater River State Park: Great little state park! Level gravel camp sites, new and clean showers, access to the river for swimming and kayaking. We were here April 5/6 and no bugs yet, very pleasant.

For Blackwater River State Park: A gem of a small park nestled in a pine Savannah near the beautiful Blackwater River. Sites are level, mostly gravel but some concrete. Opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and biking abound. Staff and hosts are friendly and helpful. Biting bugs were not as bad as we expected. Only a very few mosquitoes at dusk and dawn. Recommend booking ahead. This is a popular spot.

For Blackwater River State Park: Beautiful state park under tall long needle pines. Sites are level on gravel off an asphalt road. Good privacy between sites. Clothesline on each site. Clean, well-kept bathhouse. Trails by the river. Canoeing, kayaking nearby.
