For Ocala Sun RV Resort: Easy access. Provided for late arrival and had staff or volunteer guide us to our site. Had we not had the escort, it would have been confusing . The lot we were assigned to was dirt with a paver patio. Site was so narrow wheels on One side had to be on the pavers. This was inconvenient as our leveling jacks need service and we were afraid to use them. Campground had a mix of full timers, mobile and modular homes as well as overnighters passing through like ourselves. Almost all units were Class A Motorhomes. No issues with the utilities. Did not bother with Cable or Internet connections . Would not return for anymore than an overnight stay. Had there been a camper on the utility side of our unit, we could have probably touched their unit. We were on lot 97. Escort had to stop and shovel up piles of dirt before we could pull through. Not the best impression for $41 per night WITH a Good Sam discount! But on the positive side, it was clean, quiet and close to I75.

For Ocala Sun RV Resort: Easy on and off. We arrived late night and called ahead about 7 minutes before arrival. Jim met us at the gate, guided us to our site and waited to ensure we were ok. Grass sites, all pull through. Nice park and friendly staff. Good for overnight stay.

For Ocala Sun RV Resort: Not the best for rallies

How good a time you have at this campground may depend on why you're there. My only experience was to go as part of a rally that I had a role in coordinating.

The club was promised a block spaces, all near one another without any non-club vehicles in between. I'm sure that's hard to deliver in the high season, but our rally planners were assured, in an on-site visit shortly before the rally, that the park could deliver. Our coaches are small, so inserting a big rig in between us can be really isolating. As the rally even started a large fifth wheel was guided in to where it cut three of our members off from the pack.

We took our concern to the park owner, since the woman we'd been dealing with three weeks ago was no longer employed there. He was very polite and apologetic, though the substance of what he said was that he had 90 days each year to make his money and it was now. He said they liked rallies and wanted to be accommodating, but you can never please anyone and we always had the option to rally somewhere else. He said the fact that he was out working with our group on a Sunday, when he really wanted to be spending time with his family, shows how much he wanted to make us satisfied. He said please and sorry all over the place, but I honestly wasn't feeling valued as a customer bringing in 27 coach's worth of business for 3+ days.

When the woman next to me was pulling in there was an exchange with the park staff guiding her that really rankled. She was trying to angle her rig to her preferences, and the guide wanted her to park differently. She explained she was just trying to get level: why does she need to be where he wanted. He told her, Honey, just *do* it. That club member is a nurse and a professional and nobody's honey?. I'm just sayin'.

The park had a meeting room that we knew up front we were not going to have exclusive use of. We were told we could join the group activities of the campground, and there were many. Several members went to line dancing, aerobics, and the ice cream social: all very nice events. Some activities went on at one end of the room when we were at the other, and that wasn't bad. There were times, though when we couldn't use the room at all, and in the rainy weather we had that became a hindrance.

The bathhouses closed for cleaning 7:30 to 8:30 AM. I'm not in the business, but as a camper that was about the worst time to close I could imagine. Clean the bath houses after folks have checked out and before folks have checked in. Or at least do it when it's not prime shower time. I use the shower in my rig, but some folks prefer not to.

The campground itself was clean and quiet. I found the snowbirds and permanents very pleasant and welcoming: QUITE the friendly group at the dog park, which was not a bad dog park at all. Policies were reasonable, except the bathhouse thing.

If you're just traveling it may be fine. Rallies may want to think hard.
