For Manatee Hammock Park: Ok park. Some sites large and others tight. Bathrooms ok. Laundry very old but worked. Sites sand/dirt that tracks inside camper Pool closed for maintenance but it looked fine. A lot of rules. We stayed an extra day to watch the space flight from Kennedy space center which you can watch from the campground. That was fun. Close to beaches and Kennedy center. Rec hall locked even though they said open. Nice pier to watch sunrise in morning

For Manatee Hammock Park: Great Park but don't expect equal treatment. 2 oclock check in time if they don't like you or you are not a regular. I watched people get turned away because it was too early and 1/2 hour later check multi people in at 12:00. Said because they need to prepare the sites. In 6 years I have never seey them prep a site after someone leaves the months I was here. Its to their advantage to let people check in early if the site is empty. Eases the rush later. Typical government BS. Why can't we work with people than against.

For Manatee Hammock Park: Very nice county owned park. Sights are mostly gravel and sand, but fairly level. Size just depends on the one you get, some had plenty of room, and some looked fairly tight. Hookups all we’re in great shape. Did not use pool but it looked nice. Great open grassy area with benches at waterfront. Also pier and huge pet run. Great location to watch a NASA launch. We didn’t have any noise problems. Staff were friendly. Close to restaurants and shopping but not walking distance. Can reserve up to 6 months so some seasonal residents. We will visit again. We were in a 35 ft motorhome.

For Manatee Hammock Park: We stayed in a 35 ft fifth wheel in site 43. The site is extra wide because it use to be two sites and is now one. It is on a curve and very easy to back into. It is a sandy surface and was a little unlevel but nothing that could not be fixed with our Anderson blocks. There is a train that goes through but didn’t hear it inside my camper. The water views, off leash areas, roads are very nice. The office does ask for you trailer license plate, ID’s of adults, and goes over rules. It was quick and easy. The rules are extensive but it is more to keep the place nice and not rundown. Most of the rules are logical but have been put in writing for the people without common sense. We would recommend and stay again. Great access to Kennedy Space Center.

For Manatee Hammock Park: This was our second visit to this park. The first time was in Jan. 2020 and we had a pleasant stay, so we booked again from the entire month of Nov. 2020. This time when we arrived we were told the pool was closed for maintenance, when I asked for how long they said for a year !. Other than their recorded voice message when you call after hours, we were not informed of this fact prior to our arrival. Next problem was the sewer connection, it wouldn’t drain and when we reported it to maintenance , we were told the problem was our hose was too flat , it needed to be raised up . The hose was on a stand and had an adequate slope. Next , after being bitten on the feet by fire ants while standing at my outdoor grill, I asked at the office if someone could come and spray the ant hills. I was told they don’t allow spraying because of the river?. One other note, this park gets very busy on the weekends and consequently a lot noisier until well after 10 pm , not a problem for us but be advised. Lastly, I will say this park has potential , if just for a little better effort on customer service. We will be looking for somewhere else to go next November.

For Manatee Hammock Park: When we checked in we were given a map to site 93 and a hanging tag which said site 92. We didn't notice the descrepancy and went to 93 per the map. We got our fifth wheel all set up and then were told we were on the wrong site and had to move. he didn't care that the map had the wrong site marked. We asked if we could wait until the next day and he said no he had "layers of people" coming in. Because we had to tear down, move, and set up again we had to cancel our plans for that night. No one showed up to lot 93 until our last night there! Not to mention we got buckets of rain two nights in a row and we were sitting in a pond... site 93 was not flooded. The park was never full. Other than that, it was not a bad place.

The Dog House
For Manatee Hammock Park: 01/12/20
We booked 7 days on a trip through the south. We are currently still here on our 3rd day. Nice place and inexpensive. Toilets/showers are clean. Campers are not too close together. Dog park is cool. Most people seem to be here for the winter and are friendly and happy. Altogether a really nice place for the money. Maint guy came by and checked our electric hookup before we plugged in. We have not visited the pool.
Now the negatives...
1) Obviously our site had been recently dug up because there is no grass and it is all loose dirt and sand. With our 2 small dogs, we had a mess in and around the camper. We walked around checking out other camp sites and ours was the worst. Site 132.
Other campers bought landscaping sheets to cover the dirt and sand and that what we ended up doing.
2) The sewer drain hole is higher than normal and really made it hard to dump. It would backup and I would need to lift the hose to force it to drain. That is not fun. I believe this related to the work they had done with this site. It looks like they need to pore more fill to raise the whole camp site.
Clearly this site was not ready for campers but I’m sure they wanted to rent it.
Okay. Overall I like this place but it is time to sweep again and lift the sewer hose...
