For Peace River RV & Camping Resort: We have a Thousand Trails membership.
We had reservation for two weeks in February 2015. We were already in the area so decided to check this campground out.
Glad we did. Knowing that winter in Florida is prime time we expect this campground to be busy and full. It was.
I stopped in the office to get information and was told we would likely have to wait a week to 10 days to get a site with full hookup. We were also to that we would have to stay in the electric/water only site area. Ok the wait time was bad enough but the area we would be staying in is in a flood plane. We drove through that area and found the ground EXTREMELY soft. There were numerous tire tracks 8/10 inches deep at the few open sites.
Our motorhome weighs about 34,000 pounds. No way was I even going to attempt parking in that soft area.
This place is NOT big rig friendly. Roads are narrow, lots pot holes and vehicles parked in the road. Making it very difficult to maneuver a big rig.
Overall not impressed and we canceled our reservation.

Rural setting with small town nearby.
Stayed last year, 2014 and enjoyed the peaceful setting. This year, 2015, campground was noisy with motorcycles, loud parties late at night and many children running or riding their bikes right in front of cars. Grounds were muddy, numerous power outages and waiting lines for their small laundry area.
Will not be one of our favorite places to visit.

For Peace River RV & Camping Resort: A membership campground. Too crowded, bad power, and 70% of the sites have NO septic. The place floods out and unless you have a wrecker with you you'll have a hard time pulling out of your mud bog with a larger coach. I saw no less than three wreckers a day pulling people out of the mud. Management doesn't care much about the power, sewer, or flooding issues. The local down doesn't have much to offer either.
Unless you plan on staying on a membership it probably isn't worth it. There are a few much better parks in town for better prices.
