For Red Top Mountain State Park: The park is lovely. It is heavily wooded with a beautiful lake attached. The visitors center doesn't really have RV parking for check in, but there is some shoulder room to stop and get checked in. The roads in the campground are pretty narrow and the trees are very close. I stayed in a 39' fifth wheel and had to be careful navigating.

My preferred site was tasted at 40', but I don't see how anyone could back into it. I moved along and found another with a view of the lake a little farther away. Backing in was still tight, but definitely doable.

I'd recommend the campground, but if your backing in skills are shaky or you don't want to worry about the right roads, if suggest the pull through sites even though the view isn't as good.

For Red Top Mountain State Park: Came mid July 2016 on a Sunday as an early stop from Jacksonville FL to the badlands. Nice quiet campground. We have a 35 ft class A and had no problem getting in. Bathrooms are okay for a campground-- relatively clean. Some of the sites are nice and wooded but some are also in the open and pretty close together. Our site had 30A electric and the water pressure was pretty weak. We got a wooded, pretty isolated spot that was an easy walk to comfort station 3 (bathrooms). Lots of bees here in the summer which are all over anything with moisture, including your food so be prepared to eat inside. Overall good experience, though, and would repeat. No sewer hookups, dump station only.

For Red Top Mountain State Park: Very nice and quiet here in Feb. quite warm at 24C/75F. Great park for walking and riding trails. Tight, narrow and twisty roadway in so not recommended for big rigs. Clean comfort stations but a little run down.
