For George L Smith State Park: Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of the campground at George Smith State Park Campground. Getting to the campground is all on good roads. The park is in the middle of nowhere, but that is sometimes good to get away from the busy life. The roads in the campground are paved and in good condition. Trees are all trimmed back so they do not hit the motorhome. The campground office was open and everyone were friendly. There is a small camp store. There is a large area for parking while checking in. Fire pits and firewood is available. Our site was 18, a pull thru site with a picnic table, fire pit and great water view. Our site was level. The site was wet but it did rain the day we arrived. The site was gravel and large. The campground has no seasonal folks. The bath house is nice. No laundry. No pool and no beach area. No recreational center. There is no restaurant on site, but the campground is close to town. No Cable TV service. No Wifi. Over air antenna got a few local channels. No road noise.
Our site was long and wide. Lots of room. The grounds were well maintained and looked nice. There is good spacing between each site. We would come back. We like campsites 18, 15, 5, 21. Dream Big, Travel Far, Live Well...

For George L Smith State Park: Located next to a beautiful cypress treed lake. Well maintained park with clean bathhouses. Stayed 1 night in 25" class C. Hope to visit again.

For George L Smith State Park: Loved this park! Peaceful and quiet with VERY clean bathhouse and nice hot showers. It didn't hurt that the weather was perfect while we were there. We slept with windows open and fan on and it was in the mid 50's at night. A small park, a little pricey for a state park at $35 a night for electric and water. They did offer a senior discount of 20% which made the price $28. Stayed one night on our way north from Florida. Unsure what if any amenities they had. A great little shop at the park office that caused even my husband who isn't a shopper to come out with a few items!

Lindana
For George L Smith State Park: The dam was being repaired during our stay so there was no lake/pond. Still, it was rustic and the sites were spacious. Will come back when they fix the dam problem.

For George L Smith State Park: Very nice camping. Clean (very clean). Not a destination park - not near destination sites, not too much to do. Good value for a quick stay.

For George L Smith State Park: Four stars only because this was our first RV excursion...probably five stars. The campground is small but each site is spacious and well designed. Lot 18 is the one pull thru on the lake. All are very nice. I will say it was tight for our 36' Bighorn, but we managed. Showers and bath were clean. The camp host kept to themselves. Boats were easily rented. Our neighbor told us about a guided kayak tour of the lake...she said it was wonderful. We didn't have time to do it ourselves. The main office has the guide's number. No wifi, but ATT LTE worked well. NOTE: don't follow your GPS when you get close to park (follow signs). We did and ended up going completely around the lake...added 20 mins to trip. Pictures don't do this place justice...it's truly a natural beauty.
