For Wapsipinicon State Park: We came from Madison, WI and stayed for one night. Friday night (3 days before Labor Day) there were 3 open spots. There wasn’t many spots. Your real close to others but you’ll have your own fire pit and picnic table. You need 50 ft water hose to fill your tanks. Price was good. Think it was 16$ for our spot. We had electric only. Some spots were 11$ with no hooks ups. Not sure if there were full hook up spots or not. We pulled up and it was a self-serve/first come-first serve type of thing. We didn’t have cash so we filled out a check and dropped it off at the visitor center. In the morning saw a guy going around to collect those who came in late. There are public restroom and a dumpster. Also a designated tent camping area. Lots of cool mushrooms around to look at maybe even some to eat. Wild/lost cat was also greeting us. We fed it some raw meat :)

For Wapsipinicon State Park: I came in from the east. My GPS took me in through the center of Anamosa. The road from in-town to the park was closed. I tried to find some back streets to no avail. I finally went back out to the highway and headed west and took the next exit. It lead to a gravel road which eventually went to the park. When I arrived, there was one "mega-RV"... and that was it. All other spots were empty. The restrooms were old and not very clean. The RV spots were out in the open and very tight. The tent areas had no privacy or place to park. There was a crew cutting down large trees, so several roads were closed. The campground is right next to a golf course. I guess that's good if you like golf, but I was hoping for more of a remote campground feel.

For Wapsipinicon State Park: really quiet. Sites are not real level. The golf course has a little club restaurant that was good enough for a meal.
