For Goodenough Creek Campground: This spot is great overall, I just wish we had understood the spots a little more before coming. Before I get to the campsite though, let’s talk that drive in! It was a wild ride shortly after leaving the Interstate. The mention on this hill is not to be underestimated. As long as you are towing within your means, you should have no problem getting to the camp site, but it is steep and tight. The dirt road has some deep eroding on the passenger side as you head in. Be careful! Then you get to the castle guard, and we thought the first gate on your right was a tight corner. I get out and check it out, then look up and see campers further down the hill so I thought those must be tent only sites. Not the case, but I had already ruled them out (drove from Mesquite this morning and ready to stop and rest!) and went in searching for an opening down the road before he drives the truck and trailer down. Getting into the site was tricky, but not impossible. Again, if you are towing with your means. We have an F350 with a long bed and a 33’ trailer, wiggling about 55’ into a passenger side back in on quite the incline. Were we a bit too big? Most likely, but it worked. There is a turn around, so you can get back out. Finally, I’m walking the dog after relaxing for a bit and remember reading reviews of people in those upper spots in trailers/RVs and feel quite dumb for what could have been a much more level and quiet spot.

For Goodenough Creek Campground: This campground as others have mentioned is up a steep road and is small. There are 10 sites, 5 RV and 5 tent with gravel tent pads and picnic tables, first come first serve. Tents sites are separated nicely in a beautiful wooded area along side Goodenough Creek. Sites are well maintained with only a vault restroom, but no running water or garbage pickup. There are a few hiking trails. It’s a beautiful peaceful area.

For Goodenough Creek Campground: Review from 2016 still very valid. First two miles of the road to the camp ground is paved. The paved section contains the steep part and my ford diesel had no trouble getting my 27 ft Rockwell camper up in 2WD. The next 2 miles of road is a well maintained gravel road. Once you cross the cattle guard onto BLM land the last 100 yards to the camp is a bit rough with potholes but very passable. The 5 RV sites are all very well maintained. The first site on the left is a handicap accessible site with a large paved pad.

The campground is in great condition as a result of recent construction. We pulled our 9,000lb 25' travel trailer up here with a 4x4 truck. It's a steep access road, the last couple of miles being good gravel. We put the truck in 4-wheel drive to pull Green Road and had no problem. There is an ample turnaround area for RV's in the campground. The campsites are level and fit our 43' long truck-trailer combo. Don't be scared by the reviews of non-trailer people who say, "I wouldn't take a long trailer up there." There's a 30' Fifth Wheel next to us. The views to the east are awesome! There are only 5 RV sites, each capable of handling up to 45'. There are 5 additional tent sites at the end of the road in the campground.
