For Spruce Tree Campground: Campground in forest along the St Joe River, at the end of FR 218. The CG access road is a gravel/dirt loop through the forest and along the river. There are some grassy areas along the river. The interior of the loop has boggy areas; most campsites are located along the river side of the loop. Sites are well spaced from each other. I didn't see tent pads. Some sites look long enough to accommodate up to 30+ ft RV; I noticed one pull-through site. Vault toilets. Trailhead for the St Joe River trail is at the end of the CG. Very quiet, scenic, and remote CG. Note about access along FR 218: the road is paved much of the way, until the last few miles from Red Ives. There are some deep potholes but generally very driveable. Notably, the road is very narrow single lane with very few turn-outs for vehicles to pass. Someone will have to back up if you encounter oncoming vehicles. No cell service.
