For Deer Ridge - Ferne Clyffe State Park: Nice Campground off the beaten path but still close to interstates 57 and 24. Sites are large paved with gravel and generally level. Good electric. Fresh water hydrants throughout the park and at the dump station. Clean well kept dump station area. No full hookups. Electric only. Spots are well shaded. One bathroom/shower area it is ok but needs to be updated. There are some pit toilets also.
We were here for the 2017 eclipse. The park was in the path of totality. It was crowded but didn't feel overcrowded. No pool, there is a lake for fishing and some scenic trails. Not sure we would make a trip here just to visit because even though scenic, not much going on. Good place to relax and if we are in the area would stay here again.
