Big River State Fore
For Big River State Forest: Very Clean Campground, just off the west side of the highway. Until May 1 2012 turkey hunting is on going, so hike trails and vehicle trails east of highway are closed. The best camp sites have not been reopened since the last big flood, which means the old boat ramp is closed. The River (Slough) campsites are overgrown and the bathrooms locked.
The upper campground has a basketball hoop, water, rv dump station,swingset for kids, showers and lights in 2 picnic shelters, scattered lights thru out campground and lots of fire grates. Only draw back is highway is less then 100 yards from site, a little noisy at night.
