For Fort Massac State Park: As others have noted this is a very pleasant state park. Flat, level sites, lots of trees. Very near Ohio River.
But note: as of Sept. 2020 the restrooms are torn down and being rebuilt. There are portable toilets but no showers.
Decent AT&T signal.

For Fort Massac State Park: Called the listed number around 1pm the day after Labor. They said to come on in. Host at site #2. $20 and pick a site that doesn’t have a tag on the post. Easy enough. Each site has power, but no water or sewer. Several places around the campground to top of your water and a dump nearby. Sites are large with a great amount of green space between sites. Several restaurants within walking distance. Short walk to the river. Great walking park. Shower were good, but had the push button system. Plenty of over the air TV stations. ATT signal was great. Casio about 2 miles away. We’ll stay again.

For Fort Massac State Park: Overnight stay only but in January so we were all alone except for the camp host and a herd of 7 whitetail deer. Right off of interstate 24 on the edge of town. Shower house was clean and water was on - yay!! I would love to be back here for longer. $20

For Fort Massac State Park: IMPORTANT- READ TO END
We stayed here while passing through area. The park is very clean and spacious with views of the Ohio River. Sites are fairly big. No water hookup, but there is a dump station and fresh water to fill tank.
On the downside, it was confusing when we arrived because the host was not available for check in and no kiosk available will instructions. We took our chances and chose an empty spot but did not meet the host for payment until the morning at 7:00 when they drove by our campsite and asked for payment as they were leaving for the morning. The host did not ask us to fill out any information, just took our cash.
We also mentioned our concerns about homeless folks hanging around the bath house. The host stated that they see this all the time. It was uncomfortable using the showers with this presence. Although the park itself is lovely and well kept, seeing the homeless presence in the morning makes me question security. I will probably pas this one by in the future.

For Fort Massac State Park: We stayed here 3 nights in early May 2018. Very nice well kept park. Friendly, helpful host on site. Plenty of areas for kids to play and run around. I enjoyed the hiking trails and the views of the river. Even though this park is at the edge of the small city of Metropolis, you still feel like you are in a park. Very convenient to stay here and resupply or eat out a few meals. Would recommend if traveling through the area to stay here.
