For Shale Bluff - Hardy Lake State Park: Big state park. We stayed overnight in March when the camping options around Indianapolis are slim pickings. Big park, nicely maintained many flat wide gravel pads for RVs and lots of sites tucked into the woods along the lake for tents, pickups and pop ups. Very family friendly with a kids DNR stocked fishing pond amphitheater and clean well maintained bathrooms and showers. Paid $24 for one night. Electric only but two good dump stations. Loon calls in the morning, nice and quiet.
