Walnut River Park
For Walnut River RV Park: Walnut River Park is an excellent place to stay. It is located at 1400 East Madison at US 77 Bypass (SH166) next to the Walnut River. Very Well maintained, paved with plenty of space for my 30' RV pulling a Jeep, picnic tables, charcoalers, trash cans, bathrooms & boat ramp. Approx. 16 sites with electric hookups. Water is available but not at each site. Lighted at night but not too much (Local Police do patrol the park). Sewer Dump Station is available with easy access at Newman City Park 1800 Block on South Summit (77 Highway that goes through town) which is about 1-1/2 miles away (Well kept also with playground) that you can camp at but I only noticed 1 electric & water hookup. The Cherokee Land Run Museum, 1/2 mile south of town, is wonderful housing many Oklahoma Land Run Artifacts & local history. Casinos are about 5 miles south of town on 77 Highway. A Camping Permit can be purchased at City Hall 118 W. Central. A fee of $5.00 per night with a max stays of 3 days. What A Deal. City Hall Phone 620-441-3766. I actually didn't want to leave. I only wish I could find places like Walnut Park everywhere I go. Happy Camping!
