For Bluffton - Cedar Bluff State Park: Mid March arrival, blowing like mad, just wanted to hunker down and relax. Paid and went to site. No power. No WiFi. Toilets closed. Vault toilets need to drive to. No cell coverage whatsoever. Couldn’t even make a call to complain if I wanted to. Needless to say, we packed up and headed down the road.

Wandering Sandals

For Bluffton - Cedar Bluff State Park: We stayed overnight at Butterfield Loop in Cedar Bluff State Park. Our site#10 supposedly close to the bathroom, but size is relative here given this huge park, so it’s like 3 minutes brisk walk. Grass mowed and cleaned make it easy to walk to/from bathroom. Our site is paved and good level. Power pedestal, water, and sewer hook up are at convenient spots. Bathroom with showers and toilets are functional, but not clean and fairly dated. No WiFi but good LTE/3G. OTA TV offered 2 channels. Good shade is something very hard to come by in this RV/Trailer sites. But spectacular at primitive tent sites; shade trees are everywhere, grass mowed short for ease of tenting and parking. Now, the price of stay here; reasonable $22 full hookup, but $3 transaction fee, $5 entrance fee which jack it up to $30/first day was stiff and uncalled for. Doesn’t camping implies to be entered (entrance) into this park, unless the camping is separate from the park? We paying cash so no need for back/forth online transaction so why there was transaction fee? Imagine you going to buy a car and tires don’t come with it (like entrance fee) and the dealer charge you for effort of selling you their car (transaction fee). Lousy business approach will drive us somewhere else next time. Folks with pooch be warned; lots of sticklers in the grass to certain extend, we decided to carry our pooch instead of picking hundreds of sticklers from her face, paws and body. Lake water level has dropped 21’ so all piers, boat ramps now sticking out like an eye sore. Will we come back, likely not!

Gone With the Woods

For Bluffton - Cedar Bluff State Park: We stayed overnight in mid March. Nice park! Clean, well marked. Off the highway a ways but we liked it - we were the only RV parked there! Ha! Water was turned off. But there was water at the office and a nice dump spot. $27 a night for electric site. Would stay again!

For Bluffton - Cedar Bluff State Park: Attractive Campground with multiple loops. $24 for an electric only site - which included the $3 processing fee and the $5 park entry fee Sites with electric & water, or full hook-up also available at a higher fee. The two private bathrooms with showers in the cabin area are open all year but the bathrooms were chilly and the water only lukewarm.
