For Waitsboro: Stayed 3 nights. Site 12 that was at the very end. Beautiful lake views and we were mid week so did not have neighbors. But we believe that it would be crowded and noisy if weekenders were there! The dump station is impossible to use with a large RV so we passed it up. Did not use bathrooms. We did have many cars driving by at all times of the day. Finally said something to host who called the boss. They closed the gate one night which helped. Lots of locals here.

For Waitsboro: I LOVE COE campgrounds. I seek them out whenever possible. They are invariably attractive, well—spaced and certainly a great value for the senior traveler with a federal Golden Age pass.
This campground sadly is not one I enjoyed or would return to. Much of my thoughts are circumstantial; the next experience could be grand.
But, there are other choices in the area.
The campground is small, and linear, ending in a small turnabout with four sites. I had a site back there. My first inkling of trouble was when the site was not empty, but being used as a parking spot by the other sites. The host had to clear the place out. This resulted in annoyed neighbors. Between the two sites adjacent to me there were three trainers, a boat and about eight cars. They took up every inch of space. At one point someone tried to park in my space next to my rig.
The host came by several times to hang out “with the guys.†No effort was made to conform with the rules. I was essentially camping in a Walmart parking lot, only I’d paid. Only cars drove through all evening, then got stuck in the parking jam, three feet from my window.
Decent campground, very poor management. Locals only place.
Bathrooms are up on a steep access hill. Never found dump.
Did get AT&T service.

For Waitsboro: Beautiful campground. This is a narrow strip wedged between the bluff and the river with great river views. Maintenance and cleanliness are above average.
The road is steep and narrow. Pay attention to the site dimensions, they have railings and walls so if you're too big you can't really fudge it. #8 is long downhill, long rig probably couldn't get level. Tent sites are really nice if you're roughing it.
Only really bad thing is dump station. It's on a steep hill with sharp curves at the bottom. Lots of gouge marks in the pavement! Might be better to take it with you in a long rig

For Waitsboro: Probably the best views you will ever find from a camp site. There aren’t really any bad sites. If you aren’t along the shore, you most likely will be elevated and on a site cut into the ridge. Pay close attention to back in local - site 8 has your rv door facing the ridge vs the lake. Very steep hill coming in. There is not very good signage at the entrance. The “road ends in water†sign had us worried we took a wrong turn. Just keep trucking down the hill and check in w Betty. I would have given this 5 stars, but the shower facility is very run down and there is only one very old washer/dryer.

For Waitsboro: Excellent. Campground host is very friendly and knowledgeable. The road in is steep and curvy. The campground road runs along the shore and a hill. Water and electric, no sewer. Dump station is up a steep hill... very secure.. gates are closed at 10pm. the views are worth all the hassle!
