For Lake Bistineau State Park: Stopped here for 3 nights on our way west and so glad we did. A very quiet park with nice space between campsites. We were here in January 2022 so the lake was dry, but we had fun riding our mountain bikes along the trail in the lake. Nice hiking/mtb trails in the park (nothing challenging, but a nice way to explore). There’s an 18 hole disc golf course as well. Restrooms were very clean and showers were hot. (Laundry on site, but no longer free as noted in an earlier review). Park staff were very friendly!

For Lake Bistineau State Park: We were here for 4 nights in December 2020 and simply loved the place. We stayed at site 12 and had an amazing view from our site of a Dagobah-looking swamp with cypress trees all around. It looked like another planet to someone from the north. Pay the $5 extra and get a site with a deck. It’s money well spent. Excellent staff here too.

For Lake Bistineau State Park: This is a beautiful campground with spacious, Well-spaced sites only about 18 miles from I 10. We initially stopped for a brief overnight, but loved the peaceful nature of this place so much that we stayed an extra night.
Frank, the Ranger, Robert and Jennifer, the camp hosts, and staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming.
Restrooms were immaculate and there are free laundry machines next to the bathrooms.
Random and infrequent security patrols added to a sense of security and peacefulness.
At this particular time of year (September) the lake is dry, which seems to dampen attendance, so those lucky enough to come here at this time of year have a beautiful place to themselves.

For Lake Bistineau State Park: Beautiful huge park. Very friendly park ranger and staff. Huge campsites with lots of trees for privacy. Working laundry facilities and clean, well lit bathrooms. We only paid $18 for one night for a site with electric and water.
