Joe

For Horseshoe Casino and Hotel/Lake Charles : Stayed in 2019, it was a great free place to spend a night. Unfortunately, due to damage from Hurricane Laura in August 2020 and covid, this casino will be closed until at least spring 2022.

Lincoln

For Horseshoe Casino and Hotel/Lake Charles : Maybe ok to boondock, but I wouldn’t hook up. They are now charging a $8.00 resort fee. They also charge a $50 deposit, for what I’m not sure, waiting to get that back. Definitely loud from the trucks and trains, so be aware. Ended up paying $36.80 for electricity on a weekday. Should have boondocked, my mistake.

LW728

For Horseshoe Casino and Hotel/Lake Charles : Very nice casino, but people are allowed to smoke so I couldn’t play slots for very long because of that. Lots of road noise as it’s right off I-10. You can park for free in the lot without hookups. Best to call ahead to reserve spot if you want electric and access to showers. There are 8 spots available and must be under 25’ to fit. $25 per weekday night, $30 on weekends. Checking is 4pm but they let me check in early. I signed up for casino card and got some free play and $10 off a meal at the restaurant. Showers are well maintained. They even provide towels, washcloths, shampoo, and body wash!

Jeri Fisher

For Horseshoe Casino and Hotel/Lake Charles : We stopped for one night passing through. Rate for electric was $30, for narrow parking space in parking lot. Have to unhook. Lots of noise from bridge and train. Buffet was over $40 per person with tax, all you can eat crawfish (if that's your thing) but only meat was turkey or ham, and a lot of fried not too tasty seafood, cold steamed clams and fresh oysters. Not worth the price. Eat somewhere else. Pay $50 deposit which you get back. Stayed in our travel trailer.

Xatlatc

For Horseshoe Casino and Hotel/Lake Charles : The rates are now around $23.00 for an electric spot near the casino which includes the showers at the gym which was every nice and clean. Use their towels at the showers. Boondock parking is very good and not very far from the casino. I don't mind the noise of a train from a distance so this was okay for me considering I had the Hvac running.
This is a good stop using the electric only spots if under 30 feet or so or the back parking lot at any size.

Rick

For Horseshoe Casino and Hotel/Lake Charles : Stayed in free area. Nice, well-kept place, lovely view of Lake Charles (practically on edge of lake). But if you want quiet, this is not the place for you: 1. Freeway bridge overhead (with clanking metal plates). 2. Railroad 200m (200yds) away, with grade crossing nearby. 3. Ship's horn once while we were there. (Doubt noise is much less in paid places.)

Seminole Navion

For Horseshoe Casino and Hotel/Lake Charles : Two options: $20 for an electric only parking spot. There are 8 of them. These only work for smaller rigs, say 25' or so. They will also give you access to the gym and shower room. Option two is to park in the back, under I-10 for free with no hook ups. The electric site worked for us!
