For PJ Hoffmaster State Park: Yes, much of the campground has typical state park sites that are close together, but there are several that are larger and have some nice privacy.
Loop 3 has some very nice sites that are a little larger.
The beach has a small stream that flows out into Lake Michigan and allows a great area for smaller kids to swim with out the impact of the big lake waves.

Sharon
For PJ Hoffmaster State Park: Typical state park. Not a lot of grass and not much separation between sites. But it is a pleasant park. There is easy access to the beach. We stayed in site #2 which is directly across from the rest rooms. Not a lot of traffic this time of year. Playground and activity field are across the creek in a different area of the campground. Paved roads make it easy to ride our bikes. We would stay again.

For PJ Hoffmaster State Park: Nice park but not much separation between sites. Neighbors are too close. Wish pictures do more justice on websites on how close your neighbors are
