For Lambs Resort on Lake Superior: I've been going to Lamb's Resort since I was 15 when my parents stumbled upon this gem (I'm now 34). This is a privately owned campground right on the gorgeous shore of Lake Superior. The campground is beautiful with spectacular views and stretches of shore for the kids to play. Some sites are not level or suitable for camper trailers, but the hosts are very helpful in helping you pick out a site to suit your needs (just give them a call). The bathhouse has been renovated since our prior trip and is clean. There's a wash station to wash dishes and a small arcade that the kids think is pretty neat. There's a bakery right outside the entrance where you can get tasty morning treats. It is a great "home base" location to visit Split Rock, Gooseberry Falls, Betty's Pies, and to grab some smoked fish at Russ Kendall's in Knife River. We even drove to Duluth for some day trips on rainy days to visit the Great Lakes Aquarium. If you want to stay at a quaint, friendly, beautiful campground where you fall asleep listening to the waves of Lake Superior lapping the shore with the gentle roar of nearby falls, then you won't be disappointed. Only downside is there is no dump station.

For Lambs Resort on Lake Superior: Great views of Lake Superior from a quarter of the camp sites. They have their own nature trail which huges the lake and an outlet waterfall. 5 sites with full hook ups that go fast. Many sites are not level but that is what levelers are for. Lots of repeat business. Resort is usually full.
Going back this Summer because family had a blast hiking all the many nearby trails.
