Thad
For Ballards Campground: I came to Ballards in October of 2021, expecting to stay for a month or two. I did not leave until March of 2022. Of all the parks I've visited in/near the Joplin/Carthage area, Ballards will be my choice whenever I come back through. Reasonable prices, convenient amenities, and the pond is a really nice touch. Staff has been above and beyond any problems have been minor (and to be expected in RV life) and were addressed very quickly. I had no problem with cell service (verizon) for both phone and dedicated internet/cell modem.
Probably one of my favorite parts is the fact that they have not cut down all the trees like so many parks have just to squeeze in another customer or two. It was quiet and peaceful here the entire time I stayed. Jordan, who often is the first voice/face you'll interact with at the park, is a breath of fresh air in a region where the idea of customer service seems to be all but gone. They seem to be continually working on upgrades (perhaps to add additional services to some sites that are not yet full hookup??) and even have a few cabins available for rent.
Super convenient location to both major interstates but far enough out of town I didn't worry too much about the riff-raff.

For Ballards Campground: Nice place. Accept only 2 bars on Verizon and hotspot won’t stream.
I was wrong. I needed to restart my hotspot. Worked great. Watched videos with no problems.

Dwight Swisher
For Ballards Campground: The couple that operate this park are just the nicest, kindest folks. The sites are reasonable, the price is excellent. We stayed two days for $47 with pwr & wtr only.
2x2 laundry is clean and works perfectly. Showers are clean, with large stalls with doors, and lots of hot water. It's good and quiet during the sleeping hours, and the place is generally low-key and quiet. Exactly what we wanted for a restful few days to do laundry and sleep. As has been said, it's not fancy. But, if your traveling and looking for a cheap, very nice place to stay, you should stop by. In High Season, you likely should reserve, as there's just not that many sites available. It's a small place. They DO return your phone calls if they don't answer your call.
Don't rely on Google Sat View...place is much nicer than it looks from up there! ;-)

For Ballards Campground: Great overnight stop on our way home. Not fancy, but $25 for full hookups, and simple to get to. We followed directions on AllStays, not the crazy way our gps was telling us.

For Ballards Campground: Excellent place to stay! Nothing fancy, just simple rustic type of family-run campground. Nice showers, laundry. Quiet with a park-like environment.

For Ballards Campground: Nothing fancy here but the price was right. We had a great overnight stay. The bathrooms need work, but are usable. Very friendly staff. Might be a little hard for big rigs to get in but our truck and 25’ 5th wheel got in with no problem. Would come back for an over night stay again.

For Ballards Campground: What a great little RV park. Had great wifi and 50 amp service. Beautiful spot with little pond and price was right...25 bucks. Highly recommended.
