For Meramec Valley Camp Resort: Had reserved 2 50 amp sites for a 40 foot fifth wheel and a 37 foot travel trailer. When we arrived at the campground the sites were too short for either camper and one had fresh dirt instead of gravel to park on. Both sites looked like they had just been created and were impossible to back into because of the hillside and trees. We did not stay and had to travel another 3 hours to find any sites at all.

Rick

For Meramec Valley Camp Resort: The park has many amenities (3 pools, mini-golf, activities, Halloween trick or treat, basketball nets, canoes, fishing lake, etc.) that are all free with stay. Bathhouses are in ok shape (I’ve seen better and I’ve seen worse). The biggest drawback is the sites themselves. They are not well marked, need to be flattened and have gravel repairs. This is a large area with a bunch of sites. Several of the sites on the perimeter are unusable due to disrepair. There are permanent residents at this facility and they have recently taken ownership of the site. We talked to one of the owners and they are committed to revitalizing the site. This has the makings of a great place to stay but right now I rate it what I did. There are some good sites but make sure you bring your extra levelers, blocks, hoses and wires. You’ll need them.

Janice Truitt

For Meramec Valley Camp Resort: We stopped here for overnight on a road trip. Thankful for a place to park after all day on road, but the lady in office was not very friendly. We asked for pull thru and 50 amp electric. They have 125 pull thrus but she had trouble finding us one even though the park looked bare to us, and said all they had was 30 amp which we accepted. After she took our money, $43.00, I realized it was a back in lot. The guy who escorts you to the site, was able to talk her into giving us a different site which ended up not being long enough for our 32’ class A without unhooking our tow vehicle after all. We ended up staying inside the camper due to the downhill slope where our steps were. No table, trash in the fire pit.

Gary

For Meramec Valley Camp Resort: Very scenic and rustic. We had a gravel pull thru for our 28ft Class A and it was fine. Some sites didn’t look quite level and the roads and some of the sites were a little rough. The staff was super friendly and work was being done on the park while we were there. The park has 2 pools plus a kiddie pool which were nice. There is a lake with canoes and fishing. Also a mini golf course which is playable but could use some work. All the extra amenities are included in the price. Great lodge and restrooms and showers are very clean. Location is convenient to I44.

Mary

For Meramec Valley Camp Resort: Pulled in for an overnight, easy in and out. We have a big rig, dolly tow car. Site length good to stay connected. Not peak time , so only RV in section, week day. Pot holes, and site not level but no big deal for overnight. People working for to make improvements. Very pretty location.

Mike

For Meramec Valley Camp Resort: We set up the trailer here and found out the water was off because of a problem. This is a park with permanent residents living within it and one guy was racing a radio controlled car at high speed down the street and in the grass. Not what we were looking for and it was redneck city. Rate was $45 a night, rather expensive for this park but we did get the AARP discounted rate ($35). The park is "ok" but we probably won't stop by again and whatever you do, DO NOT dine at Dotty's Family (truck stop) Restaurant as the waitresses all had attitudes, the food was terrible and they still have "smoking and non-smoking" seating areas!!! Archaic!!!!
