For KOA Journey Big Timber: Nice staff. Sites are small and very close together. It’s hard to navigate through the park. Do not expect a good night’s sleep. Road noise and trains throughout the night will wake you even with ear plugs. Expensive and after you book with the KOA app they will add a charge for your pets. If you want usable internet you will have to pay more. Too expensive and too loud.

For KOA Journey Big Timber: This place is okay. The main drawback is how close the spaces are. You will be right on top of your neighbor. The campground itself is good. There is a prairie dog reserve right up the road which was fun to see. Not much else to do outside of the campground.

For KOA Journey Big Timber: Josh @ This KOA let us stop on our way by and get some much needed water in our tank for a very nominal fee. He was very kind and easy to talk to on the phone. We had been looking for a place to stop with our littles to get more water and hadn’t been able to find anything since Billings, MT. We appreciate the kindness and help as we continue our trip north.
While we did not stay here we wanted to leave positive feedback on the campgrounds willingness to help.

Suzanna
For KOA Journey Big Timber: Upside: friendly, family oriented
Downside: spaces were very close together, bathrooms were worn, no propane fill (exchange only), and noisy from highway and trains (which I know the owners can’t control)

For KOA Journey Big Timber: This is the third time I’ve been here for the Fourth of July. I like it because there are no fireworks and it’s a fairly quiet campground. They let you know in advance and also on their flyer that trains go by and even offer earplugs if you’d like them. I don’t know why people complain because there’s nothing the staff can do about the highway or train noise. The sites are spacious and easy to get in and out of. The Wi-Fi worked just fine and my only beef was with the idiot that pulled in next to me and continually let his dogs wander all over including in my campsite to try and pick a fight with my service dog. He did nothing to control them but thankfully he was only here for one night. The staff here is professional, very kind, and keep the grounds in good shape. I did not use the laundry or restrooms and showers so I cannot fairly rate them. They have a well-kept play ground for kids, a large jumping pillow, and a nice swimming pool. Overall it’s really nice for a one night or many night stay.

For KOA Journey Big Timber: Showers and bathroom were clean and showers good. Wifi was a joke. Password didn't work even when attendant tried it. Campsite was nice except a train rolled through every few hours blaring its horn all night long. Not good for sleeping even in RV. Other sites were farther away and were probably less noisy.

For KOA Journey Big Timber: Not open anymore - not sure if under construction or what? Big ropes across driveway and construction equipment visible.
AllStays note: They did close on Sep 3 for the year so it is probably just off season work.
