Ranger Rod
For Yellowstone RV Park: We stayed here for 5 nights in early July. The campground is very convenient to Yellowstone and right above the Yellowstone river. Unfortunately, there were may
fly hatches each day and we couldn’t sit or eat at the picnic table due to the swarm. They don’t bite, but they were everywhere. No wonder Wyoming trout get so big eating all of them. The campground was clean and the laundry was very convenient ($1.50 per load). Gardiner is a nice mountain town and the elk hang out here just like they do up at Msmmoth Hot Dprings which is really cool. It’s a steep decline from Mammoth to Gardiner so go slow if towing. There aren’t many places to rest the brakes if needed. The sites are very tight with no privacy, but it’s full hook up and all the Yellowstone campgrounds were booked so that’s the trade off.

For Yellowstone RV Park: The best thing this site has going for it is location - being along the Gardiner River is beautiful and calming. From there, amenities feel pretty average. Small sites, adequate hookups, small playground, and the same WiFi problems we seem to experience at every campsite. WiFi shows full coverage with connectivity issues. Verizon coverage was great, so we had to revert to hotspots for the work we needed to get done. Customer service was fine - very friendly when we spoke on the phone, but less so in person. We did experience some mayflies, but they didn’t disrupt our time outside. Access to Mammoth Springs is wonderful and quick, and this was the closest campground to Lamar Valley we could find.

For Yellowstone RV Park: Not the best place or location for Yellowstone. Decent sites but pretty tight. For high cost and elevation they need insulated/heated water hookups. We were there in September and it was freezing at night so had to unhook and fill our tank. We were paying $72 a night for FHU. They give you a written notice at check in that you are responsible for cost if your water spigot freezes. Same cost in West Yellowstone which is more convenient to national park. Camphost was very nice and kept place spotless. Gardiner has overpriced and mediocre restaurants. There is a good little market in town for food.

Mac
For Yellowstone RV Park: I’m a tent camper so I’m not concerned with hookups and water pressure problems, I just know I enjoyed this campground quite a bit. I spent nine nights here in one of their two small tent camping areas. The bath house was right beside the tent area, and included the laundry room in the same building. Wash was $1.50, dry was $1.50. Bath house and bathrooms were kept squeaky clean the whole time I was there. I would most definitely stay here again! Military discount was available.

For Yellowstone RV Park: Nice small campground righ by a small river. Clean too. It’s a shame they don’t allow campfires... it would be a perfect site for it.
Lots are small but adequate.
I would stay here again.
Just make sure you have a water regulator as they tell you the pressure is very high in this campground!

For Yellowstone RV Park: Beautiful setting along Yellowstone River. Level. Pull thru. Grass at each spot. Lots of areas for dogs. Friendly friendly people! Only draw back is no cable. But don’t care. Best place we have stayed from Fort Collins to Rapid City to Cody to Livingston.
