For KOA Journey Townsend Canyon Ferry Lake: The only reason I did not give it one store was because the staff was very very friendly… that’s about where it ends… does campground he’s very ran down the placement of the sewers is a few feet from the picnic tables of the site next to it. The electrical is questionable at best make sure to bring a surge protector we found the voltage on one side of the 50 amp plug at 108 V the other side was 127 V. They position seasonal renters an old piece of crap RVs throughout the park. If you were looking for a place to simply pull up do not unhook or plug in for the night that would be marginally acceptable. It seems as if KOA stopped caring about the quality of their locations it is very evident with this place. He would think for $65 a night for a place that is supposed to be open year-round they would show it some TLC, but I guess when you’re the only gig around you can afford to run I don’t like this place I would stay away!!

For KOA Journey Townsend Canyon Ferry Lake: I’m not generally a fan of KOAs, but generally can expect them to be well run.
NOT this one. The sites are awkwardly arranged, and with no one to guide us to our site, we must have approached it wrong. We tried (unsuccessfully) to avoid running over some garden timbers along our site, so we go too close to the other side.
We were also distracted by the stray dog eating trash out of our fire pit as we pulled in. There seem to be LOTS of unleashed dogs running around here.
Once we opened our slide out, we realized we were hitting a TALL frost free spigot. It didn’t seem to be connected to anything (since I saw regular faucets at the sites), so I just shut it off (assuming it was for a soaker system) and continued setting up camp. Nope. That spigot shut off water to several sites. That meant we could either pull in our slide a bit, or drive around the camp and attempt to set up further away from the spigot. We chose to pull in slide, because the site is rather unlevel, and we didn’t want to mess with all the blocks again.
Won’t stay here again.
