For KOA Holiday Asheville West: I probably would have been happier if I hadn’t ended up in such a horrible site - B3. The site is literally just a gravel heap. The picnic table and grill are 20 feet down the hill in the next campsite, but you might break your neck getting to them so nevermind.
The location is next to a truck stop and staff discussed problems with people climbing the fence and coming through the campground. They have security on the weekends. The showers and facilities looked nice, and I might stay again but only in the upper section closer to the office with more eyes coming and going.
Also, I usually ignore warnings about freeway noise because it doesn’t bother me but this was the worst ever. Supposedly it is better in the upper section.

For KOA Holiday Asheville West: Easy one night stay, right off US 40 but very noisy with trucks downshifting on the hills. New road base pull through campsites but not even gravel to walk out and in your RV on. Just glad it was not rainy. Deep potholes on the very narrow windy road in and out. Nice people and well run camp with lots of trees.

For KOA Holiday Asheville West: Campground has two sections. The upper area has pull through full hookups and the pool. The lower area has both full hookups as well sites with electric and water The campground, especially lower area, is very close to the highway and there is a lot of highway noise. Despite a cell tower located within the campground Verizon wireless was limited to one bar of 1x service.

For KOA Holiday Asheville West: Very nice facilites and great camp hosts. The sites near the office are a little cramped and very close to the interstate with some road noise. A bit noisy in our pop-up, but a hard-side would be better. Great jumping off spot for the local attractions or just kicking back there for a couple of days.
