For Cedar Island Resort: Stayed here July 14-17. The sites are all either grass, dirt or gravel. They are all fairly level. You are less than 400 yards from the ferry that will take you Ocracoke island. This is not really a resort as the day in the listing, but it’s not a terrible place. The mosquitoes are bad in the evening, ( not much they can do). You are also right on the Pamlico sound and there are horses that you can ride along the beaches The campground is under new owner ship and they are trying to improve the place. The bathhouses could use a little remodel, and a screen door to stop the bugs from getting in as bad. We loved it here. We will be back, maybe more towards the fall or winter the the mosquitoes won’t be as bad.

For Cedar Island Resort: Now that I’ve stopped crying I’ll write my first negative review ever. After dry camping several days all I wanted was a shower. It was so windy my propane water heater wouldn’t light, and I was swarmed by mosquitos while trying (that’s nature, not their fault). As I drove away to find a bath house, a truck drives past my camper spraying some kind of noxious fog, and all my windows were open! The bath house was the worst I’ve ever seen, just disgusting and swarmed with mosquitos. Back to the camper for a cold shower and a good cry.

For Cedar Island Resort: Stayed here 5/14/21. Got in after office was closed and no one answered the phone. I had not been given a site number so after driving around for a while we just chose a site for the night. The shower was hot but they really need to update them. We wouldn’t stay here again.

For Cedar Island Resort: We were delightfully surprised to find the jewel only 40 miles from home. It is isolated, quiet and beautiful. If you're looking for shopping, this isn't your place. But if you want quiet, beauty, and relaxation, this is your place. Horse rides available on the pristine beaches, restaurant a short walk. We will be back with our Hobie's and sail boats. Plan ahead for your shopping needs. The essentials are at a gas station a couple of miles away.

For Cedar Island Resort: This place is a last resort. I would highly not recommend. Campground underwater for most part. No management to be found.

For Cedar Island Resort: Great campground for the family, it's right next to the beach which is shallow and perfect for younger kids. They have horse back riding, which is an amazing ride along the beach. They are still working on upgrades to the campground, but have already updated the electric, water and sewer to most of their sites, including adding some sites with great views of the bay and of the Pamlico Sound. We stayed in the center of the campground to be near the horses and still had a great view of the sound. Highly recommend this campground if you are coming through or wanting to try out a new area near the Outer Banks, without all of the normal tourism.

For Cedar Island Resort: We stayed in the campground in a pull-through space as close to the beach as you could get. The views during the day and at night were truly amazing. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer. The sites were large with new utilities and hydrants, the food in the restaurant was great, restrooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. We played pool and watched bowl games in the sports bar. Our only regret was not being able to ride the horses on the beach. If you love nature and the beach this is the place to go. We walked to the end of the island on the beach and got to see a few of the wild horses grazing. Our next visit will be in the summer so we can truly enjoy the beach all day. We camped at Cedar Island RV Park (formerly Driftwood Motel Restaurant & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
